Abstract: I will explain the vanishing of contact homology arising from certain contact +1 surgeries, which include all overtwisted manifolds. Combining the surgery cobordism and certain strong cobordisms, we produce contact manifolds with any algebraic (planar) torsion in higher dimensions, which settles a conjecture of Latschev and Wendl.
