Abstract: Joint works with C. Garban. The Villain model is a model of continuous spins that presents a topological phase transition. Informally, this means that at low temperature the topological defects or vortices appear in pairs, but at high temperature they delocalise. In this talk, we will see that the influence of the vortices is always macroscopic even at low temperature. Furthermore, we will identify their law and compute its scaling limit at high temperature.
