Abstract: Record numbers are important statistics in random walk models. Their deviation principles are unknown as far as we know. In the present work, we prove the asymptotic probabilities of moderate and small deviations for the number of "weak records" (or "ladder points") in one-dimensional symmetric simple random walks.
